I have never been a fan of school, in fact I told my parents I was passionate about the beauty industry as an excuse to drop out of community college.  Turns out, not only did I have a passion for it, I had a strong understanding of the skill set needed to excel in this industry.  I love that my clients morning routine is a little more exciting due to their visit with me days, or even weeks, prior. Not everybody can be responsible for bringing a smile to someone’s face when they look in the mirror.  I am upfront and honest as far as client expectations go, I try to connect with my clients and build a trust based on great communication.  I have found that without good communication, all the technical skills and services are meaningless.

I am a wife, a mother of a wonderful12-year-old daughter and step-mom to two amazing sons. I love spending nights with the family doing a puzzle, watching a movie or a good Cubs game and have a new love for painting.  I myself come from a large family, quality family time is extremely important.  On a night off, you will find me catching up on my Netflix shows and enjoying a warm cup of tea. During covid, I found a new passion for painting canvases, which soon evolved into a new hobby of re-finishing old furniture.

I have a passion for balayage, highlights and dimensional hair color. I am also a blonde specialist, and love to experiment with formulas to ensure we achieve the BEST blonde tones. I am always catching up with online videos or a hands-on classes.  Taking techniques to a new level is a specialty of mine.  I love to analyze any given technique and make it my own. I find this to be a strong skill set that makes me unique and allows me to create a custom style and color that will best suit my client and their needs.

I graduated with my cosmetology certificate from Pivot Point Academy in 2006. After 5 years of experience in the field I decided to advance my career by going back to school to receive a license to educate future stylists. Although, I wasn’t a good student, I found that I excel as an educator and I worked as a cosmetology teacher at Empire Beauty School for 4 years. This was a major growing experience and had a huge hand in advancing my career, not only as a stylist but as a mentor in the field. I have partnered with Julie to develop and execute a training system for our newest stylists in the salon.
