Certifications: Licensed Cosmetologist since 1998, Platinum Certified Brazilian Blowout Stylist, Educator

Being a stylist was never on my radar to do for a living.  I loved styling hair as a child, cutting my Barbie’s hair and, to my mother’s dismay, my own.  I attended Cosmetology school as part of the high school vocational program.  It was there that I found that hair just came easy to me. I still attended community college where I studied criminal justice but found that my passion for hair outweighed my passion for anything else.

I still love a mystery and problem solving and bring those skills to my current work.  I love finding solutions to problematic hair and helping a client learn to work with what they were given.  Although, cutting and styling short hair are my favorite, I have special expertise finding solutions for fine and thin hair, customizing color formulas, men's cuts and razor haircutting.  In a matter of minutes, I am able change a client’s appearance to make them feel good about themselves.  My goal is always to give my client a style they love and can manage.  I am known for being honest, always making sure my clients understand what they can expect from a style, as well as, how much maintenance it will require.

When I am not at the salon you can find me out and about with my awesome 7-year-old, Dean, and my husband Carl.  We love to find adventures at the zoo, Morton Arboretum or anywhere new.  When I am not out and about with my family, you can find me catching up with a good book and a glass of red wine.  In the summer time, we often have friends and family over for a pool party and a BBQ.  Whereas, in the winter we love to start a DIY project, from the kitchen, bathroom, basement, we’ve almost done it all.  This year we are planning a bar build in the basement.  I am often a good source of home remodeling and decorating advice.  Believe it or not, I have been known to do electrical, plumbing and carpentry work.  I genuinely enjoy working with my hands and creating new things.

I have a passion for learning and teaching and have recently took on the new challenge of becoming a facilitator for PSC where I represent z_one concept products.  This amazing opportunity has granted me unlimited access to the latest trends in our industry.  These two companies have trained and inspired me be a better leader in the salon.  It’s a gift to be able to help form new stylists in their talent.  I love that as a stylist and leader I can help provide structure for a new stylist to learn quickly and realize their potential.
